The Nutcracker — the original Santa Cruz production, with live orchestra!

Our eleventh anniversary production at the Civic Auditorium starring Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre alumna,  Houston Ballet principal dancer Melody Mennite and Houston Ballet principal dancer Joseph Walsh.  Featuring the Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre Orchestra, a fully professional orchestra conducted by Maestro Pamela Martin. Choreography by Robert Kelley.

Santa Cruz County Symphony Children's and Family Concerts 

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre collaborates with the symphony in these fun, informative concerts which center around the orchestra.  Petite Company dancers perform "Hoedown", Petite and Junior Company performs "Hungarian Dance" and Johanna Butterworth performs Peppermint Candycane from "The Nutcracker".

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre In Concert 

Our annual mixed-repertory concert features the long-awaited revival of Philip Jerry's poignant "Our Town", a premiere by our own award-winning resident choreographer Robert Kelley, a commissioned piece by guest choreographer Ilana Goldman, plus the classically beautiful Entrance of the Shades from "La Bayadere", and a special collaboration with Kuumbwa Jazz Honor Band!

Regional Dance America/Pacific Festival 

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre participates in the annual Festival, this season held in Spokane, Washington.  Member companies from our region each perform works in three varied performances.  Adjudicator Deborah Hadley has chosen Robert Kelley's "Point Well Taken" to be performed Wednesday evening at the Festival.  Two of our emerging choreographers' works have also been chosen for performance: "Mad Rush" by Molly Winslow Hanson and "Hollow" by Nahshon Marden.

Emerging Choreographers Showcase

A new tradition, which showcases the talents of tomorrow's choreographers!  In conjunction with The Studio Student Demonstration.  Featuring the work of Nahshon Marden, Molly Winslow Hanson, Amelia Busenhart and Bisley Kleijnen.
