A Santa Cruz tradition!  Our seventeenth production with full professional orchestra at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium.  Over seventy local dancers perform choreography by Robert Kelley with sumptuous costumes and scenery.  Guest starring SCBT alumna Melody Mennite and Chun Wai Chan, principal dancers with Houston Ballet, as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.  The 52-piece Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre Orchestra is conducted by our Music Director Pamela Martin.  Follow THIS LINK to a Times Publishing Group article about our production, Music Director and Orchestra.

Santa Cruz Symphony Children's and Family Concerts

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre collaborates with the Santa Cruz Symphony in these fun, informative concerts which center around the orchestra, directed by Maestro Daniel Stewart.

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre In Concert 

Our annual mixed-repertory concert features a wide range of dance idioms, from classical to contemporary styles.  This season features a world premiere by illustrious American Choreographer Ron Cunningham, a new piece by our own award-winning Robert Kelley, the elegant "La Volonta" by guest choreographer Debra Pearse Rogo and the return of Philip Jerry's poignant "Our Town" to music by Aaron Copeland.   Junior and Petite Companies will also perform.

The Ballet Alliance Festival

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre participates in the annual Festival, this season to be held in Spokane, Washington.  Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre will perform Robert Kelley's "The Heart of Oros," chosen by Festival Artistic Director Ron Cunningham.  The Ballet Alliance is formerly Regional Dance America/Pacific and offers our dancers a wonderful educational opportunity each spring.  Our dancers are seen by recruiters from the best professional companies, schools and college/university dance departments in the country.
