"The Nutcracker" — the original Santa Cruz production, with live orchestra!

A Santa Cruz tradition!  Our fourteenth production with full professional orchestra at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium.  70 local dancers perform choreography by Robert Kelley.  Guest starring alumna Lauryn Winterhalder and Richard Smith, principal dancers with Sacramento Ballet; alumna Melody Mennite and Connor Walsh, principal dancers with Houston Ballet; and alumnus Gabriel Williams.  The Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre Orchestra is conducted by our Music Director Pamela Martin.

Santa Cruz Symphony Children's and Family Concerts 

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre collaborates with the symphony in these fun, informative concerts which center around the orchestra.  Petite Company dancers perform.

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre In Concert 

Our annual mixed-repertory concert features a wide range of dance idioms, from classical to contemporary and often includes original music commissions and live music performances by local composers and musicians.  This season's eclectic mix promises to delight with premieres by our own award-winning choreographer Robert Kelley and alumnus Nahshon Marden, as well as an original work by Jacqueline Colledge of Utah Regional Ballet.

Regional Dance America/Pacific Festival

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre participates in the annual Festival, this season held in Phoenix, Arizona.  Pacific region adjudicator Michael Uthoff has chosen Robert Kelley's "Venteux" for performance on Friday, May 6.
