"The Nutcracker" — the original Santa Cruz production, with live orchestra!

A Santa Cruz tradition!  Our fifthteenth production with full professional orchestra at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium.  Over seventy local dancers perform choreography by Robert Kelley.  Guest starring our own professional alumni: Kaelyn Magee of Ballet Arizona dances Friday and Saturday with Michal Wozniak; Lauryn Winterhalder of Sacramento Ballet dances Sunday with Dylan Keane; Gabriel Williams dances all performances.  The Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre Orchestra is conducted by our Music Director Pamela Martin.

Santa Cruz Symphony Children's and Family Concerts 

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre collaborates with the Santa Cruz Symphony in these fun, informative concerts which center around the orchestra, directed by Maestro Daniel Stewart.  Our Junior Company dancers will perform two pieces on this concert.

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre In Concert 

Our annual mixed-repertory concert features a wide range of dance idioms, from classical to contemporary styles.  This season's eclectic mix promises to delight with a premiere by our own award-winning Robert Kelley to a commissioned score by composer Jerome Begin, which will be PLAYED LIVE by a string quartet and directed by Music Director Pamela Martin!  Including guest choreographer and alumnus Nahshon Marden's premiere "us/them" to a new score by Max Rico.  Guest choreographer Eva Stone has re-staged her romp to Boccherini, "End of a Year."  Also featuring the classic "Paquita" and the Peasant Pas de Deux from "Giselle." Junior and Petite Companies also perform.  Don't miss this exciting mix of great dance!

Regional Dance America/Pacific Festival

Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre participates in the annual Festival, this season a national event with all 5 regions participating, held in Phoenix, Arizona.  Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre will perform "End of a Year" by Eva Stone on Friday, May 5, selected by Pacific Region Adjudicator Jeffrey Gribler.
