BOYS BALLET PROGRAM Course Description
Mens Class
Boys study ballet alongside girls for many reasons, most importantly that many of the objectives of successful training are the same for both genders. Boys have to be strong, coordinated, flexible and musically artistic, just like girls.
The 2023-2024 Season curriculum integrates Mens Technique into all ballet technique and pointe classes for our Advanced levels. Boys will work on a variety of male skills, including upper body strengthening exercises, strength of relevé and ballon, coordination and presentation. Extra time is dedicated to flexibility. Performance footage of proficient and famous male dancers is studied whilst learning variations. Exercises which build stamina and perseverance are tackled each week.
The 2023-2024 Season offers a Boys-Only class for young dancers age 4 through Level I. Go to Class Schedule page.
