Myra Ritchey was born and raised in Santa Cruz. She  was a competitive gymnast and received her dance training at Elaine’s Dance Studio, The Studio School of Classical Ballet and Teen Dance Company of the Bay Area. Myra attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles as a dance major.  She began her professional dance career dancing and singing in “Cabaret” with Bay Shore Lyric Opera then to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, choreographing and dancing at a resort. She then danced aboard cruise ships with Carnival Cruise Lines and also at California's Great America. She started teaching full-time for Elaine’s Dance Studio in 2007 and was the Artistic Director for many years. In 2015 she moved to Palm Desert and taught at Dance Dimensions, where she led their tap program and became the assistant director of the company. Myra is a versatile dance teacher and is competent in numerous dance styles including ballet, jazz, acro, tap, contemporary and hip hop from young children to adults.

Myra discovered Pilates in 2016 and eager to gain moreknowledge obtained her certification. She is a strong believer in Pilates after seeing life changing results from a back injury with a daily Pilates practice. She currently teaches Pilates at La Madrona Athletic Club and posts classes on her youtube channel “Pilates With Myra” where she hopes to help others heal themselves from back pain. In the summer, catch her on Saturday mornings for Pilates on the Beach.  In her free time you can find Myra at the beach, bodysurfing or surfing.
